• A pupil at a school in Monmouthshire or attend Ysgol Gwynllyw.
• Between 15 and 18 years of age during this academic year
• An enthusiastic singer who wishes to develop their skills and perform in concerts.

​If the answer is "YES" to all three questions then you might wish to consider applying for the Monmouth Male Voice  Choir Scholarship scheme. This is being offered with financial support from the Tabor Charitable Trust.

What do you need to do?

1. Choose a piece of music that best showcases your singing skills. It can be any genre but should be no longer than five minutes.  The piece must be one of the following:
   (a) Unaccompanied
   (b) Self accompanied e.g. guitar
   (c) Piano accompanied
2. Practise until you are confident.
3. Produce a live audio (not video) recording of the song. (Backing tracks are not permissible).
4. Closing date 31st January 2024
5. Submit your recording by attaching it to this Google form.​​​

  What happens next?

1. ​After initial screening, a selection of applicants will be invited to perform at a  concert.  Piano accompaniment will be available if required.
2. Three adjudicators will judge each performance and decide who is to be awarded this year’s scholarship.
3. The winner will be offered the following:

• ​Twenty individual singing lessons with the renowned singing tutor, Jeanette Massochi.
• At least two concert performances with the Monmouth Male Voice Choir, including the annual Gala concert on 12th October 2024 at St Mary’s Priory Church in Monmouth.​​
